Reed & Reed Inc. is nearing completion of the $2 M bridge replacement project in South Thomaston, Maine. The job involved constructing a 400 ft. single lane temporary bridge, setting up a traffic signal and then switching traffic. We then removed the old bridge and constructed a new 100 ft. bridge. The abutments are supported on HP 14 x 89 h-piles and the bridge is composed of four NE Bulb tees with a poured-in-place concrete deck. The approaches have over 400 ft. of prefabricated concrete gravity wall. |
