On December 30th the Cee – Bee deck barge was re-christened and launched into the ice filled waters of the Kennebec River. Abigail Parker did the honors with a bottle of champagne.
The Cee – Bee, 48’ x 140’ x 8’, was hauled up on the ways at our Dock Yard facility and thoroughly inspected. The entire bottom x- rayed to identify any steel that needed to be replaced or repaired. Reed & Reed crews cut out, refitted and replaced any deteriorated areas of the bottom, rebuilt spud pockets, rub rail, sand blasted entire barge, attached new zincs, prepped, primed and painted and lettered her. The Cee-Bee is headed to the company’s $10 million bridge substructure rehabilitation project on the Deer Isle bridge in downeast Maine. |
