The Project Superintendent is responsible for the successful planning and completion of construction projects.

Position:

  • The Project Superintendent reports to the Project Manager.
  • This individual represents Reed & Reed as its on-site representative and supervisor.
  • The Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager in planning and executing work, following and maintaining the project schedule.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with the Owner’s on-site representative in following contract procedures and plans.
  • Oversee all self perform and subcontractor work.
  • Coordinate Reed & Reed’s contract responsibilities regarding QA/QC testing and documentation
  • Oversee documentation including daily logs, extra work documents, time sheets, material packing slips, safety reports, test data, etc.
  • Represent Reed & Reed, Inc. at various jobsite meetings, supervision of subcontractors and coordination with utilities.
  • Maintain project quality standards.
  • Work with Project Manager to assign company equipment to project and to make decisions regarding rental of outside equipment.
  • Work with Safety Director and Project Manager to deliver and implement project safety plan.

Skills Required

  • Bridge and/or wind farm energy project experience.
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent with 10-15 years of progressive experience and 5+ years experience as a construction supervisor.
  • Review drawings and specifications for constructability.
  • In depth knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements.
  • Skilled at interacting with self-perform teams, subcontractors, and engineers.
  • Possess problem solving skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic computer skills, including ability to process payroll, send & receive email, etc.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

  Basic knowledge of carpentry, concrete, concrete forms, welding, pile driving, cofferdams, equipment and project safety. Must be able to perform a variety of tasks. Extensive experience with pile driving and cofferdam work. Has rigging experience, understands crane setup, travel, rigging cable, positioning, understands torch set up and operation. Is capable of leading small crews (1 – 3 people), capable of being a jack of all trades, all of none. Is dependable. Tools required: tape, adjustable wrench, spud, level, hammer, and knife. Position summary:

The Project Manager will report to the Vice President of Construction.

Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of project work related to the development and execution of bridge, marine, and wind farm projects. Including:

Project development (proposal or bid support), Preconstruction services (estimating, design development and review, subcontractor pre-qualification, equipment procurement support, project schedule, and coordination with clients, designers, subcontractors, and utilities).

Construction services (management of self-perform work, subcontractors, schedule and budget management, major material procurement, document controls, and coordination of work activities with clients, designers, subcontractors and suppliers)

Manage the safety and QA/QC programs as required on individual projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field

Ten years of project management experience on significant, complex lump sum bid and design-build contracts with demonstrated success.

Significant experience with estimating and self-perform work.

Demonstrated leadership skills and management knowhow.

Excellent interpersonal skills that establish and promote effective relationships with team members, owners, engineers, and subcontractors. Experience with project management systems and tools.
