On June 9, 2009 Reed & Reed, Inc. was recognized by the State of Maine for achieving SHARP status from the United States Department of Labor, Occupational Health & Safety Administration. SHARP, the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program, is a special program recognizing achievements by employers in workplace safety and health. It is the highest honor given by OSHA. Reed & Reed was also recognized for receiving its 7th Build Maine Award from the Associated General Contractors of Maine for the Stetson Wind project. In his remarks Representative Peter Kent noted that this award is presented annually to high profile projects that meet stringent criteria for innovation, environmental sensitivity, safety and overall excellence. It is considered a major award for Maine construction companies.
Senator Seth Goodall and Representative Peter Kent presented Reed & Reed with an official expression of sentiment from the members of the Senate and House of Representatives of the 124th Legislature and the people of the State of Maine.
