History
     
1928 - Reed & Reed founded
The company is established as a partnership of Captain Josiah W. Reed and his son, Carlton Day Reed, who begin with a capital investment of $2,000.
1930 - Reed & Reed bridge construction begins
 
Bridge projects become the company’s chief operational focus, and remain so into the mid 1970’s
1953 - Carlton Day “Bud” Reed becomes a partner
 
1968 - Partnership of Carlton Day Reed, Bud Reed, and Ed Hunter established
This leadership team steers Reed & Reed into the early-1980’s.
     
1982 - Reed & Reed is incorporated
 
1985 - Jackson Parker elected President and CEO
 
 
1992 - RR Caribbean, Inc., established in St. Thomas
 
1992 - Thomas Reed elected Treasurer
 
1994 - Callahan Brothers, Inc. acquired
Callahan, a forty year-old bridge and utility contractor, had achieved a proud record of accomplishments. Its acquisition brought new skills and complementary resources to Reed & Reed.
1996 - Award-winning QC/QA program established
 
 
1998 - Callahan Brothers, LLC Union Shop established
 
2003 - RR Caribbean expands
RR Caribbean, Inc. acquires assets of O’Brien Construction Company, St. Thomas, USVI
2003 - Reed & Reed / Cianbro joint venture
Maine’s first cable stayed bridge. $70 million contract was awarded to replace 2200 foot bridge over Penobscot river in Prospect-Verona, Maine
2003 - Reed & Reed celebrates its 75th anniversary
 
2006 - Reed & Reed completes New England's First  commercial scale wind farm
