About Us

Founded in 1928 by Captain Josiah W. Reed and his son Carlton Day Reed, Reed & Reed has a long history of successful public & private construction projects throughout New England. Over the past seven decades, under four generations of family leadership, our company has built a long-standing reputation as one of Northern New England's top heavy contractors.

But bridges were just the beginning. Over the course of the past two decades, Reed & Reed has made dynamic changes in our operational focus and scope. Thanks to a strong foundation of experience and management stability, we’ve been able to apply our extensive resources to a far broader range of construction services.

Headquartered in Woolwich, Maine, Reed & Reed performs a wide range of construction services for both public and private clients.  From complex cable-stayed bridges to industrial facilities, marine terminals to wind farms, commercial and institutional buildings to pile driving, parking garages to environmental remediation, Reed & Reed has a track record of superior performance.

Behind all our success is a simple philosophy: high quality construction at a fair price, performed safely and delivered on schedule. Innovation, skilled labor, and the best methods and equipment are critical to our success.

At Reed & Reed, we know where we’ve been, and we know where we are going. In every new direction we take, we’re building on solid experience.

The results speak for themselves.
